Located in Midtown Manhattan, the redesigned MetLife lobby is part of a retail extension study for 1095 Avenue of the Americas, now 2 Bryant Park Tower. Previously, the lobby divided valuable retail space along 6th Avenue into two sections. The new design relocates the entrance to 42nd Street, creating a continuous retail frontage and enhancing commercial value.
The renovation redefines the arrival experience with modern elegance and timeless design. Featuring a refined palette of sleek marble and custom metal accents, the space blends light, texture, and materiality for both functionality and aesthetic appeal. A reimagined reception area improves flow, while integrated lighting highlights architectural elements and creates a dynamic ambiance.
Gregory Martínez de Riquelme led the project as principal architect during his tenure at Gensler New York.
